Beverly acquired her B.A. in Psychology at Sonoma State University in 1991 and her Masters in Social Work (MSW) through Sacramento State University in 1996. The emphasis of her Master's program was focused on Families & Children.  Beverly worked in her community as a Parent Educator and Director of a Parent Support Network and Crisis Hotline while parenting her 4 children. Many families she worked with were single parents who were overwhelmed with trying to meet the demands of providing for their families with the responsibility of parenting and minimal emotional support.

Beverly also had training as a drug and alcohol counselor in 1993. There are now many forms of addiction resulting from Internet access and social media including sex and porn. Addictions are identified by evaluating how much they interfere with healthy functioning. Does the behavior cause stress in your relationships or interfere with adaquate performance in employment? These are some of the areas that will be explored when looking at addictive behaviors.

Beverly relocated to Eugene, Oregon in 2005 where she currently practices. She has over 20 years experience working with families and individuals. Beverly will help identify thought patterns that are based on fear and pain or masked in anger. These thought patterns directly impact our moods and emotional state. Without intervention, a vicious cycle of depression and discontent can develop into a sense of hopelessness. For most people, healing begins when we feel safe enough to allow our pain to surface and become aware of past hurts that keep us trapped in our pain and suffering. For couples counseling, Beverly combines a developmental approach with 'mindfulness' to help couples cope with present day issues as well as become aware of limiting roles that keep relationships from growing. Communicating is a key to success in relationships. Repressed emotions not only break down relationships but they can result in layers of resentments and eventually cause health reprucussions.

We have the keys within ourselves to awaken and reconnect to our natural state of well being. The journey begins with self-love. Beverly will provide support and guidance to assist you in rediscovering your true self.
